Title I

Elkton Middle School has been identified as a Schoolwide Title I School. The Title I Program gives us the opportunity to provide all students with additional academic and social-emotional support.

Elkton Middle School has been identified as a Schoolwide Title I School. The Title I Program gives us the opportunity to provide all students with additional academic and social-emotional support. 

The Purpose of Title I: “Is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards ..." -U.S. Department of Education

Funding benefits include:

  • Additional staffing, technology, books, materials, & supplies for students
  • After-School Math and Enrichment Program
  • Workshops for parents are geared toward empowering families to help their students succeed academically and socially.
  • Summer Intervention and Enrichment program  
  • Title I Resource Teacher working directly with students, staff, & families
  • Title I Tutors for small group instruction
  • Title I Behavior Specialist
  • Title I School Counselor 
  • Title I Local Support Teacher

Title I Field Trips

In order to be eligible for field trips, students...

  • Must earn a passing grade in all academic classes
  • Must not have more than 5 unexcused absences
  • Must not have more than one office referral for discipline

Trips have included: Philadelphia Zoo, Camden Aquarium, and NorthBay Adventure Camp

  • Provide individual and small group academic assistance.
  • Communicate with families regarding student progress. 
  • Schedule students for after school tutoring sessions.

  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide academic and social-emotional interventions.
